Social Justice Essay Topics - Writing About Your Topic

Social Justice Essay Topics - Writing About Your TopicWhile in college I took up writing with an eye toward being published, and I am pleased to say that I was quite successful at it. As a result of my efforts, I won several writing contests as well as various online short story contests, and I did well enough at the latter to be included in a publication. My social justice essay topics have been published online by The Penguin Press and The Monitor Press as well as other publications, but I have yet to see a submission from my author website.I started writing adult stories about 'overly aggressive and/or under-sexed teenagers,' and these stories were published by several adult writing magazines. However, when I began to write fiction I soon realized that I could tell better adult stories than the kids I had written about, and so I slowly began my own magazine. With that magazine I wrote progressive theme stories about race, religion, class, gender, economic issues, sexual orientation , and poverty. It was with this magazine that I got my first taste of publishing in a traditional journal, and so I was pleased to see that when I submitted my newest story for the writers' anthology they accepted it. This anthology is entitled We Are Our Brother's Keeper: Stories From A New Generation Of Racial Justice Activists And Political Activists.I have written three articles about my social justice essay topics for The Independent, a major UK newspaper. One was a profile of an African American woman, Ester Griffiths, an anti-apartheid activist, and another was a report on the Gender Gap in Top Public Management Firms. For the latter article I interviewed a number of prominent women in the US who had recently achieved a certain level of success in their field. In addition to doing this, I also used these interviews to outline a series of questions I wanted to ask the women.I am often asked what challenges and opportunities there are for social justice essay topics, especially when you are an author writing on a topic that has not received any mainstream media attention. To my knowledge I have never encountered any real challenges or obstacles on this topic, but in the future I would like to think that I would not hesitate to write about a controversial topic such as LGBT rights, a multiculturalism issue, or child abuse and neglect. I would also be glad to write about gay marriages or adoption, gay rights marches, transgender rights, or the legality of certain forms of birth control.I think the greatest challenge I have experienced is trying to get publishers to pick up a novel I am working on because of the topic. I have only been able to get one small book published by a major publisher, but on the whole I am happy with the results of my writing career. My book is titled We Are Our Brother's Keeper: Stories From A New Generation Of Racial Justice Activists And Political Activists, and I am happy to say that despite the title I was not interested in writ ing about 'white people'race.' Instead, I am a great problem solver and so my topics tend to relate to other people's problems.
